Kieu Huynh
Nurse Practitioner, AGCNP-C
Kieu earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, distinguishing herself with induction to the Phi Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She then completed a Master of Science in Adult-Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program at Walden University.
Her experience working in Intensive Care brought her to wound care. “I love wound care because I get to see a real, tangible difference in my patients. Every wound is different, so I am constantly challenged to discover what could be preventing healing and to find the right treatment approach. It’s so rewarding to see a patient with a chronic, painful wound heal completely and get their quality of life back. I also really enjoy building relationships with patients and their families, especially because I provide care in their homes.”
Kieu is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, A-GPCNP-C. She also completed the Vohra Wound Care Certification, with the entitled distinction of Certificate of Added Qualification in the Specialty of Wound Care.
Kieu knows that every patient and every wound have story, and those stories need to be understood before the wound is treated. “Mobile wound care allows me to see my patients where they live, which gives me a much better understanding of the barriers that may be affecting healing. I look at the whole person, their environment, their support system, and their individual needs to create a realistic plan of care that will work in their everyday life.”
For Kieu, great care combines clinical expertise with listening, compassion, education, and working together to create a treatment plan. “The patient’s participation in healing matters. The care I provide is only one part of the process. I can bring the treatment and expertise, but what patients do between visits matters just as much. Healing is a partnership, and even small, consistent choices can make a big difference in healing.
“For me, it’s not just about treating a wound—it’s about bringing specialized care directly to the patient and helping them heal, regain function, and improve their quality of life.”

Dr. Conway McLean is a podiatrist who is board certified by a physicians-only certifying board, the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. McLean has years of clinical experience in this unique field of medicine and has written many articles on the topic, as well as lecturing on wound care.
